Suzanne Sheppard, Chatt Tales

Suzanne Sheppard has been a fixture of the Chattahoochee Valley homeschooling scene for over 25 years. In addition to homeschooling her own three children, Suzanne has been instrumental in building and supporting the local homeschooling community. She founded Freedom Homeschoolers, an inclusive support group that was active in the local community for 18 years. She has planned numerous workshops, field trips, multi-age co-op programs and classes, as well as regional events such as homeschool proms and graduations. As a result, Suzanne is more than prepared to welcome children with a variety of learning styles, religious beliefs and diverse medical or dietary needs. Suzanne has a deep love of children’s literature and her hands-on educational philosophy meets children where they are and inspires them to learn about the world around them. Suzanne has been married to her husband David for 33 years, she has three children and one grandchild (with another on the way!) and makes her home in Phenix City. Suzanne earned her AA in from Valdosta State University. In her free time, she enjoys traveling both domestically and internationally.
